Endurance Land Receives Planning Permission for King’s Cross Redevelopment
London, 14 June – Endurance Land has secured planning permission for the comprehensive redevelopment of its Kings Cross estate.
The Islington Borough Council planning committee awarded the permission on June 7th, 2022. The redeveloped buildings will comprise 141,633 sq ft of office space and 11,724 sq ft of retail and leisure space.
Jonathan Fletcher, CEO and founder of Endurance Land, commented: “We are delighted to have received planning consent to deliver the exciting next chapter of our Kings Cross estate. The scheme is a carefully considered design that embraces the buildings’ heritage, whilst creating a destination that is fit-for-purpose for future workers and visitors, and delivers genuine community benefits to the surrounding area.
It is hugely exciting to be a part of the continued evolution of one of London’s best-connected districts.”
The redevelopment will include a significant new F&B and leisure offer, alongside contemporary new workspace facilities and planned public realm improvements. The repositioned buildings will also have impressive environmental credentials, including: BREEAM excellent, low embodied carbon (353kgCO2e/m2), as well as an all-electric services solution. This is in keeping with Endurance Land’s sustainability commitments of minimising the impact buildings have on the environment and improving the local environment for all.
Savills acted as planning consultant with Piercy & Co as lead architect, Publica as public realm specialist, and Kanda as public relations specialist.
