The Bailey is located in Mid Town, adjacent to City Thames Link station and a short distance away from St. Paul’s and Chancery Lane tube stations. The Bailey occupies a prominent position on the western elevation of Old Bailey directly opposite Old Bailey High Court.
Planning permission for a comprehensive office refurbishment was achieved in September 2018, and the works were completed in February 2021.
A double height reception and landscaped terraces on four floors with panoramic views
The new building has been designed to the exacting standards of a high quality, Central London office building. Comprising circa 115,000 sq ft over ten floors of flexible Grade A office accommodation, the building provides landscaped terracing on four floors, stunning views towards the Old Bailey High Court and the City of London, an impressive double height reception and a duplex office suite on the top two floors.
A Grade II Listed façade fronting 115,000 sq ft of contemporary office space
The building is formed of two interconnecting elements. The Grade II listed front section was originally constructed in the early 20th Century and then significantly altered internally to form modern office accommodation. The larger western extension, comprising circa 90% of the total NIA, was originally constructed in 1999 to a modern City office standard. Both elements have been significantly upgraded with a new central lift and stair core, services and WCs. In addition, two new office floors with external terracing have been added above that and are served by an interconnecting stairwell and lift.
The Bailey has achieved both a BREEAM Excellent accreditation and a Wired Certified Platinum rating.
Agreements to lease the entire building to IPG Mediabrands (Lower Ground, 2nd – 8th floors) and Knotel (Ground and 1st floors) were exchanged in February 2020.
